Allison Tarrasch, MPAP, PA-C

As a kid growing up in summer camps, as a camper and eventually a counselor, I have always gravitated towards working with children. I love the spirit and energy that youth bring to the table. Likewise, I often find myself seeking out adventure. If every day involved a hike, rock climbing, and a little yoga, I could ask for nothing more. My path towards becoming a PA in orthopedics was driven by my interest in movement and the way our bodies and minds adapt to overcome challenges to achieve our goals. As a PA in Orthopaedic Surgery and director of CATCH (Center for Achievement of Teens and Children with Hand Differences), I find that the children and teenagers I work with have like-minded interests and goals. The drive our patients demonstrate to overcome injuries, congenital and neuromuscular differences and psychological obstacles constantly opens my eyes to what we are all capable of achieving. I have the honor every day to support the path patients take to stay healthy and pursue sports amongst other hobbies that bring out their highest potential. I feel incredibly fortunate to have found a home at CHLA, where inspiration and a sense of togetherness run high.
