Magnet Recognition
Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) is honored to have received and retained Magnet Recognition through the American Nurses Credentialing Center for its high-quality patient care and nursing excellence since 2008.
The Magnet Recognition Program® provides individuals who need medical care with the ultimate benchmark to measure the quality of care that they can expect to receive at a Magnet Hospital. The Program is designed to elevate the reputation and standards of the nursing profession.
The Magnet Recognition Program was developed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, the largest and most prestigious nursing credentialing organization in the United States, to recognize health care organizations, like CHLA, that provide the very best in nursing care and uphold the tradition of professional nursing practice.
The Magnet Recognition Program is based on quality indicators and standards of nursing. The Magnet designation process includes the appraisal of both qualitative and quantitative factors in nursing.
