Demetrios N. Mallios, MD is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Keck School of Medicine of USC. He earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 2015. He subsequently completed his residency training in adult cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Southern California in 2022 followed by a fellowship in congenital cardiac surgery at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles in 2023, both under the instruction of Dr. Vaughn A. Starnes.
Dr. Mallios is board certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery in cardiothoracic surgery and has also earned subspecialty board certification in congenital cardiac surgery.
His clinical and research interests include neonatal heart surgery, single ventricle palliation, complex aortic root and aortic arch surgery, and international collaboration for medical mission work.
