Imran Masood, DO, is a pediatric cardiologist in the Heart Institute at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. Dr. Masood graduated from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior, with a minor degree in Chicano Studies. He completed medical school at Touro University of California.

Dr. Masood completed his pediatric residency and pediatric cardiology training at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. He subsequently completed an additional year of training in heart failure, transplant, cardiomyopathy and exercise physiology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).

His current research interests include studying the role of exercise and sports participation in improving the lives of children with cardiomyopathy, heart transplants and congenital heart disease. He also has research interests in heart failure therapies and mechanical support (ventricular assist device). His goal is to improve exercise and sports participation in all patients with heart disease in the safest way possible to improve physical health and quality of life.
