Research

Dr. Gibson's laboratory is part of a unique collaborative group of researchers at CHLA, INSPIRE (innovative synergistic pediatric infection research), with Dr. Michael Neely and Dr. Elizabeth Burgener. Her laboratory seeks to optimize treatment regimens for challenging infections. Her primary focus is management of drug-resistant bacterial infections in patients with Cystic Fibrosis, particularly non-tuberculous mycobacteria. She utilizes a hollow fiber infection model to optimize current therapeutics and test novel treatment approaches in vitro.
