Nurse Practitioner

As a dedicated Nurse Practitioner within the Cardiothoracic Surgery Department at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, I specialize in the care and management of pediatric patients, ranging from newborns to 18 years old, who have congenital heart and thoracic defects. My experience spans the full spectrum of our service line, including the Cardiac Intensive Care, Cardiac acute step-down unit, and pre-op and post-op clinics.

Growing up in a medical community, I became familiar with many types of medical professionals. I enjoyed biology, anatomy and physiology in my studies which naturally steered me towards a career in nursing. Initially, my journey began with adult care, where I developed a strong interest in complex medical conditions. This curiosity led me to the adult ICU and eventually propelled me into the pediatric realm during my nurse practitioner program, focusing on family care. The complexity and diversity of congenital heart defects captivated me, making the care of these incredibly complex, fragile and yet resilient children the most rewarding aspect of my career. It's profoundly gratifying to be a key player in the recovery of our patients, guiding them and their families through their most difficult and stressful health challenges and celebrating their journey home.

I am passionate about continual learning, teaching, and mentoring within our heart institute, regularly engaging with our team of NPs and RNs through educational presentations and sharing clinical insights. Outside of my professional life, I cherish spending quality time with my husband and our two sons, enjoying vacations, reading, leisurely walks, and reconnecting with extended family and friends.
