Nancy Chang, PhD, FNP-C is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine of USC and the Director of Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) Research at the Center for Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. She has over 28 years of experience in diabetes research, and has conducted several studies aimed at understanding the barriers that adolescents and young adults face to perform self-management of their diabetes. Her principal research interests are focused on developing innovative models to improve diabetes control in this vulnerable patient population. Dr. Chang has collaborated in several national and international clinical trials for adolescents with T2D, and is a co-author of the treatment guidelines for T2D for the International Society of Pediatric and Adolescents diabetes.

Dr. Chang received her Masters of Science in Nursing with a specialty as a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Ph.D. in Nursing from the UCLA School of Nursing. She was a recipient of a fellowship award from the Ruth L. Kirschestein National Research Service Award (NRSA) from the National Institute of Nursing Research, and has received funding from Medtronic Inc. and the Good Hope Medical Foundation.
