Omar Salem Alharbi, MD
Dr. Alharbi received his medical degree from King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Masters of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore. He then gained expertise as a Pediatric resident and Chief resident at Lincoln Medical Center, New York, before joining us as a Pediatric GI fellow at CHLA where he graduated as the Fellow of the Year in 2020. He subsequently completed his Advanced and Therapeutic Endoscopy training at Cedar Sinai Hospital, Los Angeles and thereafter he joined as Consultant Pediatric Gastroenterology and Advanced Endoscopy at the King Fahad Medical City (KFMC), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. At KFMC he successfully established the Advanced Children’s Endoscopy (ACE) program and served as its inaugural Director, in addition to serving as the Program Director of the Pediatric Residency Training Program. Currently, Dr. Alharbi serves as the Director of Advanced and Therapeutic Endoscopy at the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at CHLA.
