Dr. Chapman came to CHLA/USC Keck School of Medicine in 2014 and is currently the Medical Director for the Newborn and Critical Care Unit and the Associate Chief for the Division of Neonatology at CHLA. Dr. Chapman is currently involved in clinical and epidemiological research related to ECMO support and persistent pulmonary hypertension.

Dr. Chapman received a B.A. in Mathematics and her M.D. at Boston University and completed her residency in Pediatrics and Fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at the University of Michigan Health System, C.S. Mott Children's Hospital.

Dr. Chapman began her academic career at Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital and School of Medicine, where she served as the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) Director and as the Associate Program Director for the Yale Children's Hospital Residency Program. She was recruited back to the University of Michigan in 2009 to lead the Fellowship Program in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and served as the Neonatal ECMO Program Director prior to joining CHLA.
