Shuo Wang, MD

Shuo (Sue) Wang, MD is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the University of Southern California in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). She graduated from University of California Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology Immunology and Molecular Genetics and Minor in Biomedical Research in 2009 and then attended University of California Irvine School of Medicine where she graduated in 2013. She completed her internship and residency in Pediatrics at University of California Los Angeles in 2016 and her fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in 2019. She then underwent an additional year of subspecialty fellowship training in Fetal Cardiology and Advanced Non-invasive Imaging at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles after which she stayed on to join the CHLA faculty in 2020.

Dr. Wang is actively involved in the detection and management of fetuses with congenital heart disease and is an active member of the Fetal Maternal Center at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center to care for fetuses diagnosed with congenital malformations. She also takes care of patients after birth in the inpatient and outpatient clinic setting. Dr. Wang is also a member of the high volume echocardiography lab performing and interpreting transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms. Her clinical and research interest is in strain and 3D echocardiography, contrast echocardiography, prenatal detection of congenital heart disease, and improvement in fetal congenital heart disease outcomes. She has a particular interest in the impact of healthcare disparities in detection and outcomes of fetuses and children with congenital heart disease. She also is interested in life-long learning and is actively involved in resident and fellow education.
