Brain blood flow and its response to changes to inhaled oxygen levels in subjects with and without sickle cell disease

This study uses sensitive measures of brain blood flow an its response to change to inhaled oxygen levels to determine how the brain protects its oxygen supply.

Eligibility
1. known diagnosis of sickle cell disease or chronic anemia
2. Also accepting healthy control volunteers
3. Must be 7 years or older
4. Must be able to tolerate the MRI procedure
