Cerebral microvascular integrity in children with and without persistent central nervous system symptomatology

Comparing brain MRIs, blood brain barrier integrity and cognitive performance in those with and without Long COVID symptoms and in those that have and have notbeen previously hospitalized with COVID.

Time commitment/Requirements
Visit 1 (~ 2-6 hours): Questionnaires, general check-up, blood draw, neurocognitive assessment, brain MRI
Visit 2 (~ 2 hours): Additional brain MRI. This visit is optional.

Eligibility
1. Between the ages of 7 and 25
2. Must be able to undergo a 60-minute brain MRI without sedation
3. Must at least have one of the following clinical criteria:
a. Previously hospitalized in the ICU due to COVID (mostly multi- inflammatory disease of children, or MIS-C),
b. At least one of the following Long COVID and CNS symptoms: fatigue, headache,
sleep disturbance, inattention, forgetfulness, and brain fog.
c. Healthy children who were either not infected with COVID or had asymptomatic
COVID infection and are not complaining of any CNS symptoms.
4. Must not have severe claustrophobia.
5. Must not be pregnant or nursing.
6. Must weigh below 330lbs.
