Postoperative Opioids in Children IRB CHLA-18-00449 Postoperative Opioid Use and Prescription Utilization in Children The aim is to find out how overall health and wellness is related to need for pain medication after surgery. Study Details Keywords surgery pain medication Study Type Longitudinal Eligibility Children ages 13-20 and one of their parents. Child must be scheduled to undergo one of the 8 following surgeries: posterior spinal fusion, pectus excavtum repair, pectus carinatum repair, hip reconstruction, bowel resection or ostomy for inflammatory bowel disease, arthroscopy, pilonidal excision, or tonsillectomy Does this study also recruit healthy volunteers?
