Digital Health Lab
The Innovation Studio’s Digital Health Lab accelerates the development and incubation of innovative digital health technologies in pediatric medicine through:
- Digital Therapeutics - Enhancing physical therapy, speech therapy, behavioral health, chronic pain and other therapeutic care delivery models
- Clinical Education and Simulation - Improving access to and the effectiveness of clinical education and training of our providers and staff
- Patient and Provider Experience - Reimagining the patient, family and provider experience through digital technology
Connected Care
Through the Connected Care program at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, we are using technology to improve access to the best pediatric, including through telehealth appointments and online second opinions. Learn more.
The West Coast Consortium for Technology and Innovation in Pediatrics
Complementing the Innovation Studio’s work is the West Coast Consortium for Technology and Innovation in Pediatrics (CTIP). Established in 2011 by USC and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, CTIP supports the development and commercialization of medical devices and technology specifically for vulnerable pediatric populations.
KidsX.Health
The CHLA Innovation Studio founded and is the administrative center for KidsX.Health, an international consortium of pediatric hospitals focused on improving digital health innovation through collaboration. KidsX.Health runs an annual accelerator in Glendale, California, pairing top digital health startups with leading pediatric hospitals.
Mental Well-being for Teens
Through strategic partnerships, we aim to create equitable access to screenings, interventions and services that are scalable and culturally relevant to improve teens’ mental and emotional health in Los Angeles.
Patient-Centered Diabetes Care
For patients with diabetes and their families, we are using human-centered design to improve their overall care experience, patient-provider communication, self-efficacy, health literacy and data and device integration.
