Trainings and Surveys
A foundational step to building an inclusive organization begins with ensuring we all understand the core concepts of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion offers a comprehensive DEI training program that defines these core concepts, and how they impact our approach to health equity. This foundational training contributes to our mission by challenging us all to build a health care system that prioritizes cultural humility and health equity for all our patients and families.
Core concepts addressed in the four-part curriculum include:
- Diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging
- Cultural humility and accommodations
- Gender, sexual orientation and gender equity
- Principles of trauma-informed care
This training curriculum contributes to our mission by addressing our knowledge gaps, providing definitions for a common shared language around core concepts.
We also conduct regular surveys to find out more about our team and the quality of work they experience at Children’s Hospital. These surveys capture information about employee demographics, engagement, sense of belonging and work-related stress.
