After Acceptance
Acceptance
If your child is determined to have met the selection criteria and is accepted as a transplant candidate, he is placed on a national waiting list monitored by the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) .
Every effort is made to keep your child in his own environment during the wait for a transplant organ. However, if your child does not reside within two hours of our facilities, you may be asked to relocate closer to our hospital. Patients may continue to be followed by their primary physicians who then maintains close contact within the program.
