Afua Ofori-Darko

Afua Ofori-Darko is a medical student at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Community Health from Tufts University. Prior to medical school, she worked in the health startup and innovation space, cultivating a strong interest in using health technology to improve health outcomes. She is particularly passionate about addressing health disparities in marginalized communities and has spent significant time working to improve access to medical education and care. Beyond her academic pursuits, she enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants, and playing tennis.

Jack Loftus

Jack Loftus is a 4th year medical student at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and after graduation worked in a community health center in Minneapolis. He was a substance use counselor working with patients and families impacted by opioid use, and worked extensively with syringe exchange, naloxone distribution, and street outreach programs. He has had a life-long dream of becoming a physician and intends to pursue a residency in Internal Medicine-Pediatrics with an interest in primary care. He is passionate about a holistic, family and systems-based approach to care that integrates awareness of the ways an individual’s environment impacts health and development.

Teni Akin-Olugbemi

Teni Akin-Olugbemi is a medical and research assistant on the premedical track and is currently applying to medical schools. She graduated from Northwestern in June of 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and a minor in World Literature. She joined the racial socialization pediatric review team in December of 2022 and has been working with the team since. Her research interests are in the fields of cardiovascular science and adolescent psychology.
