Disclose Your Invention or Copyright
The Office of Technology has created a new online Invention Disclosure Portal. Our convenient online system allows you to disclose your invention and automatically submit it to our office. Please contact our office at OTC@chla.usc.edu if you have any questions or issues with the Invention Disclosure Portal.

Step 1: If this is your first time to the portal, you will need to request an account by providing your email address and clicking create an account. A profile page will open where you will create a personal profile (Please note all the fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required). If you have previously created an account, if you are a CHLA employee, please sign in with your CHLA credentials. If you are a non-CHLA employee, please sign in with your previously created username/password.
Step 2: Once your account is created, you can access the Online Invention Disclosure Portal. Please click on the “Add New Disclosure” box and enter a title for the disclosure and choose the appropriate type of disclosure – either a Record of Invention or a Record of Copyright.
Step 3: Once you access the Record of Invention or the Record of Copyright, please completely answer all questions and attach all documents. After the Record of Invention/Record of Copyright is submitted and is preliminarily approved, you and any additional inventors/authors will be sent an email with a link to e-sign the Record of Invention/Record of Copyright for full approval and acceptance by our office.
While we highly encourage you to submit your invention/copyright via our Online Invention Disclosure Portal, you may disclose your invention/copyright using the paper forms for the Record of Invention or Record of Copyright and submit it to OTC@chla.usc.edu.
