Psychology

Many medical conditions and psychological problems can impact a child’s behavioral health. At Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, we believe all children should have access to the behavioral health resources they need. Your child does not need to have a mental health diagnosis to benefit from psychological support.

Psychologists at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles are licensed behavioral health providers with extensive training and experience in evaluating, assessing and treating various behavioral health conditions for children and adolescents. Our psychologists partner closely with the medical teams at CHLA to provide comprehensive and holistic care that addresses each child’s physical and behavioral health needs.

Psychologists have expertise in evidence-based practices to help serve children facing challenges with ADHD, anxiety, autism, depression, eating disorders and trauma, among other behavioral health conditions. Children who are anxious about medical treatment, struggle in school or have experienced trauma can all benefit from working with a psychologist. In many cases, a child’s emotional and behavioral difficulties can also have a significant effect on the well-being of the child’s family. Our psychologists are well-equipped to provide parents, caregivers and family members with psychosocial education and training that support their child’s care.
