Advanced Practice Provider Student Clinical Rotations
Children’s Hospital Los Angeles offers a competitive and rewarding program for advanced practice providers (APPs) in training. Our APP clinical rotations are designed for nurse practitioner (NP), physician assistant/associate (PA) and student registered nurse anesthetist (SRNA) students. Observation hours are also available for Pre-PA students who need job shadow hours as a requirement of enrollment in an accredited PA program.
Requirements for APP Students Interested in a Clinical Rotation
- Verify with your placement coordinator or program director that your school has a current student clinical experience agreement with CHLA.
- Obtain an active California state RN license. You cannot apply for student placement until your California RN license has been issued. (Does not apply to PA students.)
- Complete the APP Student Clinical Placement Request form. Students may only apply for one rotation at a time.
- For nonclinical capstone work, practicums, and MSN rotations, please complete the Graduate Student Request Form. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
APP Student applications are batched each quarter. Please consult the chart below for your application due date. All applications will be reviewed against a matrix, and clinical rotations will be offered to the most qualified applicants.
