Resources for Children and Families with Pediatric Urology Conditions
Our whole-child approach gives families access to support throughout their care. We offer:
Child Life Program
Urology tests and procedures can be stressful for children and their families. But our Child Life specialists are there to help.
These trained practitioners become part of your child’s care team and communicate with your child’s other providers. Child Life specialists can:
- Explain treatment to children using toys and age-appropriate language
- Relieve stress in children with games and crafts
- Provide coping strategies or distraction during or before procedures

Financial aid resources

Social Work Program
Our Social Work Program helps your child and family navigate life with a urology condition. Our trained social work professionals can address concerns with:
- Emotional health
- Finances
- Mental health needs
- School and academic resources
Support groups
Support groups help families connect with others who understand their situation and challenges. But it can be hard to find groups that fit your needs.
Our social workers have the knowledge and connections to help you find the right children’s urology support group for your child or family. To get started, ask your doctor or nurse practitioner to connect you with a CHLA social worker.
