Ilanit Brook, MD, MSHS, is an Associate professor of Pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. She is an attending physician on the Comfort and Palliative Care Service with expertise in symptom management, medical decision-making and quality-of-life concerns for patients with life-threatening and life-limiting illnesses. She is the program director for ACGME accredited Hospice and Palliative medicine fellowship.

She is the inaugural Chief Faculty Wellness officer at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. In this role she leads our wellbeing council, which is made up of representation from all 5 departments and is inclusive of physician, psychology, clinical scientist and Advance practice providers. She also co-directs our peer support program, the Healing Response Team (HeaRT). Dr. ilanit Brook is responsible for developing and co-creation of a vision and plan for faculty well-being. She works closely with the CHLA office of well-being, wellbeing council and faculty well-being champions to build upon the current strengths and address opportunities with improvement within the organization. In her well-being leadership position, she identifies barriers to faculty wellbeing and provides opportunities to change culture and drive improvements in practice efficiencies. In this work she collaborates closely with the Office of Quality and Safety and the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Additionally, she serves as the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles well-being leader on the wellbeing leadership council as Keck School of Medicine.

She earned her medial degree of Tel Aviv University in Israel and completed her residency at Harbor UCLA Medical Center within the Los Angeles County Health System. She completed her pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at UCLA medical center and her Palliative Medicine fellowship at Kaiser Permanente Southern California/CHLA pediatric track program. She is double boarded in Pediatrics and Palliative Medicine.
