Bone, Joint and Spine Conditions
The Jackie and Gene Autry Orthopedic Center provides the most comprehensive pediatric care in the Western U.S. We deliver the latest therapies for:
- Hand and upper extremity issues: Our team delivers research-based services for common and complex differences affecting the hands, arms, elbows, nerves and tendons.
- Spine disorders: One in 5 pediatric spine treatments in the U.S. take place at CHLA. Few programs in the nation can match this level of experience.
- Limb differences: We have uncommon expertise in treating arms and legs of uneven length or that have missing features, like fingers or toes.
Cancer and Blood Diseases
Our Cancer and Blood Disease Institute is one of the largest hematology-oncology programs in the Western U.S. International patients often seek services for:
- Bleeding and clotting disorders: We are one of the world’s largest centers and have been delivering lifesaving pediatric therapies since 1976.
- Cancer: Our pediatric oncologists (specialists in cancer care for children) deliver the full spectrum of services and maintain excellent outcomes.

Digestive Disorders and Liver Disease
We are among the nation’s leading pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition programs, providing testing and treatment for thousands of children each year. Specialties include:
- Inflammatory bowel disease: Our collaborative approach blends the best available treatments with the latest research findings for outstanding care.

The Vision Center at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is an international referral program and the only program in the U.S. with experts in nearly every pediatric ophthalmologic subspecialty, including:
- Corneal and refractive disease: We are one of the few U.S. programs offering child-focused care for conditions such as cataracts, corneal scars and glaucoma.
- Eye anomalies: We have an international reputation and maintain excellent outcomes for anatomic differences affecting the eye and optic nerve.

Fetal and Neonatal Care
Our Fetal and Neonatal Institute delivers the highest level of care for critically ill preemies, newborns and infants. Thousands of children each year benefit from services such as:
- Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO): We are a recognized Center of Excellence offering advanced life support for babies with life-threatening heart and lung issues.
