Aerodigestive Disorders Patient and Family Resources
Aerodigestive disorders affect children differently, depending on the affected sections of the airways or digestive tract. Many conditions get better with treatments. But some children have chronic aerodigestive disorders that require lifelong care.
At Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, your family benefits from dedicated specialists and comprehensive resources. These experts and services help improve your child’s ability to breathe, swallow and eat.
Support for Children with Breathing, Swallowing and Feeding Issues
The coordinator and scheduler at our Aerodigestive Program guide your family through patient intake, diagnostic tests and follow-up steps. Your child and family may also benefit from these specialty services:
Speech-language pathology
Our speech-language pathologists evaluate and treat children who have swallowing, feeding and speech problems. These experts help your child perform exercises that strengthen the muscles they use to chew, swallow and speak. Explore speech-language pathology.
